MATHEMATICS

2 times tables

In class we've also been learning about the 2 times tables and gaining a better understanding through using materials.  Sometimes when we hear the words "times tables" we think it's hard but we have been learning other words which makes it easier, like "lots of" and "groups of".  Also we found out that if we know our doubles (for example: 4 + 4) then we actually know our 2 times tables (for example: 4 + 4 = 8, so 2 lots of 4 equals 8 too).

showing 2 x 12 = 24 (2 groups of 12 is 24)

showing 2 x 5 = 10 (2 lots of 5 is 10)

showing 2 x 1 = 2 (2 groups of 1 is 2)

MATHEMATICS

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the delay in having any recent posts, was having technical difficulties.

Statistics

The beginning of this term we were learning about graphs and finding out information from questions we posed.  One week our question was "What colour vehicle passes our school the most".  We made our predictions which was grey/silver cars would be the most common colour and the least common being green, white, yellow and purple.
We then went outside our gate to view the cars going past.  We each had a partner and a colour car that we were looking for.  We took it in turns to record the number of cars using tally marks and looking for the colour cars we were given.

And here we are with our partners recording.
